Purchasing Category Manager - Food

Manage the commodities within the Service Item portfolio, representing a ~$40M in sales.
- Purchasing management of the service product category. Work will be conducted while collaborating with the regional General Managers and marketing.
- Develop key assortment for the different distribution planks. Reduce redundant items, creating value by adding more productive items.
- Develop and implement a competitive, profitable pricing strategy working in close collaboration with the VP pricing.
- Coordinate the purchasing for different distribution platforms.
- Coordinate with other segment purchasing managers, leveraging the budget with HQ and other distribution, and production sites.
- Conduct category analyses (spend, suppliers, users, needs, etc…) using the company sourcing model. .
- Seek improvements, efficiencies for working capital optimization.
- Execute hedging, and contract strategy.
- Optimize the relationship with active supplier, and seek new relationships to optimize cost, quality, service levels, and risk mitigation.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in purchasing, preferably in managing a similar category
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Excel skills
- Excellent analytical skills, to include reporting accuracy.
- Lead, taking initiative while proposing improvements
- Ability to work within fast-paced, cross-functional setting.
