Purchasing Category Manager - Food

Manage the commodities within the Service Item portfolio, representing a ~$40M in sales.



  1. Purchasing management of the service product category. Work will be conducted while collaborating with the regional General Managers and marketing.
  2. Develop key assortment for the different distribution planks. Reduce redundant items, creating value by adding more productive items.
  3. Develop and implement a competitive, profitable pricing strategy working in close collaboration with the VP pricing.
  4. Coordinate the purchasing for different distribution platforms.
  5. Coordinate with other segment purchasing managers, leveraging the budget with HQ and other distribution, and production sites.
  6. Conduct category analyses (spend, suppliers, users, needs, etc…) using the company sourcing model. .
  7. Seek improvements, efficiencies for working capital optimization.
  8. Execute hedging, and contract strategy.
  9. Optimize the relationship with active supplier, and seek new relationships to optimize cost, quality, service levels, and risk mitigation.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in purchasing, preferably in managing a similar category
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, to include reporting accuracy.
  • Lead, taking initiative while proposing improvements
  • Ability to work within fast-paced, cross-functional setting.
