Supply Chain Lead

Purpose and Scope:

The Supply Chain Lead is responsible for the complete cycle of material flow, from the purchase and control of raw materials, to the planning and control of the finished product.  The Supply Chain Lead will also develop and manage supplier relationships in this 15 person plant. Reports to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager.

Responsibilities:

Monitor forecasts and keep track of availability and allocation of materials Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers Analyze inventories and determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste and optimize customer service Manage, monitor and maintain Min/Max levels Coordinate activities of supply chain management with other functional areas, including sales, marketing, finance, production and quality control
  • Coordinate activities related to tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing and receiving including the movement, storage, or processing of inventory

  • Communicate with sales on aging inventory or other inventory issues

Implement new or improved supply chain processes while managing functions and processes Review excess, obsolete and slow moving inventory to determine disposition on a monthly basis
  • Arrange for the return of non-compliant material to suppliers as needed

Work with management to attain goals, carry out strategies, plans and policies to increase profitability and success of the company Oversea, monitor and maintain inventory levels overseas for our European outside warehouse   Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Supply Chain Management or other related field

  • At least 5 years progressive experience in management of materials, preferably in graphics, lamination and/or plastics industry

 

Job knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Excellent interpersonal, written (techinical writing, documentation and record keeping) and oral communication skills

  • Financial skills, including cost modeling, cost analysis and Make vs. Buy analysis

  • Sound technical skills, logical ability, analytical problem solving skills, and strong problem analysis and resolution skills

  • Ability to identify tools, processes and metrics to optimize supplier value

  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and business ethics

  • Ability to prioritize and succesfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with agressive deadlines

  • Ability to influence and promote change on all levels of the organization
